As a little girl I always loved dressing up and playing with clothes, so one day I decided I wanted to start designing/redesigning my Barbie’s clothes. When I got a little older I knew I wanted to work with fashion in any way I could. After graduating from UTC with a Bachelors degree in marketing, an opportunity came about for me to have a warehouse. This allowed me to have a space to begin my online boutique that would be called Davey Gene.

The name Davey Gene comes from the two men I have always looked up to the most in my life, so incorporating them in my business means a lot to me. I have had so much love and support behind me through this venture and I hope I make those people proud. However, a few years went by running the boutique in a “cookie cutter” way and I was getting burnt out. Things weren’t moving the way I wanted and I just wasn’t happy anymore with the boutique. I wanted to make Davey Gene more unique and fun, so this meant we needed a full blown rebrand.

For the rebrand I wanted to go back to designing/redesigning clothes, like I did for my Barbie’s but this time with human size clothes. There was just one small issue… I couldn’t do it alone. This is where mom enters the chat. We officially turned Davey Gene into a two woman show!

Davey Gene’s intention is to take a garment, whether it be new or second-hand, and make it into something unique. We want you to have something no one else has so you can be uniquely iconic!

I am so thankful to have a husband, family, and friends that support me and drives me to do what makes me happy. Of course I have to mention my assistant, our golden boy, Bud! He loves helping his mama and mimi run Davey Gene and making sure everyone feels loved!
